$6 Experiment - Litter Box Revamp

Revamping their litter box again.... :)

Their previous setup with cat repellent and egg crate (left). This setup has 2 flaws in their current situation - (1) bigger size poops stuck in between the egg crate and cat repellent, and (2) due to their pee pond, removing the stucked poops and hays really a disgusting task for me daily. So a revamp is needed!

I wanted to do the metal net with egg crate again but Daiso @ IMM ran out of metal net. By chance, I chanced another cat repellent design.

Flipping the repellent shows a flat surface and the spikes are also longer - which means depth!

So I bought 3 pieces ($6 in total) to try and surprisingly, they fit nicely into one tray!

We also tested the stability on one repellent by placing 1.8kg weight on it and found it pretty stable. Hence we thought to get it to try. I called this $6 experiment.

Now the boys trying the new setup (left) and there is a concern of urine retention at the between holes spaces on the new repellent. However, so far so good such that urine was seeping well into the pee pad and no retention seen.

Well things still remain to be seen at this early stage. So will update again. Stay tune!
