Always Waiting Home For Yours Truly

Everyday after work when I reach home, Cotton will without fail stand next to his litter box to wait for me. It's very heartwarming that there's a loved one waiting home for you.

And upon seeing his empty hay rack makes me even happier. I cannot be more than delighted!

I would fill fresh hays in his rack and feel happy too. It's therapeutic when refilling his empty hay rack.

I love you, Cotton. You always make my bad day at work bright when I'm home. You drive my work blues away, do you know that?

As Big Like A Diamond

Omg!!!! Cotton's poops really turn brown after 6 consecutive days of 99% of Oxbow Timonthy hays. This is absolutely fabulous! For the first time, I debunk my initial own belief that Cotton's poops can never turn brown due genetic. Damn I'm so wrong!

And look at the size of his poops!!! Just like a 5 carat diamond to me. :D

I'm motivated to give only 1 tbs of pellets on Sat mornings and occasion fresh vegetables on weekdays. Only his NS supplement remains status quo. His poops also lesser moist feeling. Cotton eats a lot of hays too and he is more active these days too.  Way to go, Cotton!

Active Cotton

Ever since I put Cotton into 100% Timonthy Hay (1st cut) diet with occasional limited fresh vegetable treats on weekdays and 1tbs pellets on weekends, Cotton is more active than usual. He does not sleep as often as he used to and would hop for his treats untirelessly. I'm amazed with his sudden balls of energy arise from the diet change.

Uncle Hubby can even make him chase around several times before rewarding him. In the past, Cotton would stop chasing and run to rest after not more than 3 rounds of single lane hops. It's really amazing that he's now more active than usual especially he will hop to us to beg for us for pellets every morning. He will even let us caress and carry him more willingly whenever he begs for his pellets/treats. I have never seen such a sweet side of Cotton before and no, I did not give in to him with pellets because it's bad for him.

It's not easy being a good mum by refusing unhealthy food all the time.

Hays Vacuum Cleaner

Cotton is helping me to clean up the leftover of the hays....how sweet of him.

Gluttony bunny!

Weights

Recently I bought a digital portable luggage weight scale online for $5.90 with free shipping. Just in time to test and know my boys' weights at the same time.

I just changed their diet since last Sat after their body check up. I have reduced their fresh vegetables until the last serving was on Thursday (yesterday) and only 1tbs of pellet on Wednesday (the day before). They were given only Oxbow Tim hays most of the time. Let's check out their weights!

First, take the weight of the empty basket. It's 1.05kg.

Now let's take Cotton's weight with him inside the basket. It's 3.07kg (Cotton's weight + basket weight). That means Cotton's weight is 2.02kg!

Now let's take Koogle's weight.

What????? He's only 1.76kg!!! He's even thinner than what he was 1 week ago. How come??? I have been syringe feeding him with oat bran mixed with CC for 5 consecutive days and no weight gain?

And Cotton gains weight though he's really less chubbier to hug now. What's happening?

Jailed for 9hrs!

Cotton was jailed this morning for nipping me!! He kept following me around for his pellets breakfast and I told him 'No'. I'm watching their sugar intake in their diet now for their intestinal yeast overgrown issue. I was kneeling down in front of Koogle's pen and patting him, then Cotton suddenly hopped over and nipped my right knee (nearest to him) and the nip drew blood!!! Ouch!

So that's how he was jailed. Hmph!

Brown Poops!

Omg!!! Cotton's poops are brown color!

I cannot believe it. I always thought Cotton default poop color is dark to black poops because given the same kind of diet, Koogle's poops are brownier.

The diet: recently I decided to cut down and hopefully to eventually wean them off pellets. Current plan is to give them pellets on weekends while hays at 24-7 on weekdays with an occasion fresh vegetables.

Just on 2nd day and wa-lah, Cotton's poops become brown, clear distinct brown. I dont know why the picture turns out not so brown, maybe lighting reason.

I tried to compare an old picture of Cotton's poops but I think the contrast is not obvious in the picture, again might be due to lighting and angle differences.

Size wise, there isn't much change. Cotton also pretty manja (Malay word for being human friendly and approachable) to me for past 2 days. He's expecting his pellets for breakfast and I'm giving them none. Koogle also been observing me from his cage to check if Cotton been given pellets.

Koogle is a rather stubborn and less smarter buck who would stand and wait for his pellets breakfast while Cotton knew something not usual and already been munching his hays. At 9am yesterday via IP camera, Koogle finally realized that pellets was not going to happen and started to eat his hays.

The past 2 days of 24/7 hays meals also resulted Cotton to lose some weight. I feel he is less chubbier when I cuddled him to feed him Fiberplex. Awwwwww.....really pains me to see him lost some weight. I miss the chubby Cotton and always nice to hug-squeeze him.

However this morning, I made an exception and gave them 1tbs pellets and they finished it within minutes. No more exception, I promise myself. :X

Renovating Cotton's Pen.....Again

Renovating Cotton's pen again Hahahahhaha I have no choice because of Koogle's stray pee issue. I would certainly hope that Koogle won't have to cage one day and if potty retraining can only improve very little, I better think of a plan B to have some damage control/ reduction in place.

So here I am bought a 1m x 2m PVC mat online with free home delivery. The PVC mat is not heavy at all and only comes in black from this seller. I got it for $56.

Previously I used corrugated boards but I find them a little unsightly with the tape and the size is not too fitting. I read online that bigger sizes of corrugated board is available to buy at store but the problem is: how do I transport back? Cab may not be large enough. I may need a van!

So now this is the new setup! The 1m breadth is just nice for the playpen fence as well. The only cons is the black color unable to let me see their poops instantly.

Well, only time will tell if this setup is effective or not. :D

Cotton checking out the new mat.

Cotton the Cool Bun

How cool is Cotton?

My handsome bun indeed :p

Ahhhh!!! Cotton Bit Our Walls!

It all started with an online promotion offer where 4 pieces of willows (1 cube, 1 ball and 2 rings shaped) selling at $40 with free delivery. So I bought a set to try out and only Cotton enjoy bitting it. Koogle totally disregards and ignore it completely.

Then something weird of Cotton beginning to happen - he started to bite the corners of our walls! Look at the damage he has done!

So Uncle Hubby scolded me to look for trouble by buying the willows. I am totally regret of my own decision too. Now I need to discipline him no biting on the walls whenever I caught him bitting the wall again. Argh!!!! Naughty Cotton!

I sprayed those walls he bit with diluted vinegar so hopefully that would also deter him from bitting again. Finger-X

A Common Pathetic Sad Look

Recently I observed that when I scolded my furkids and spanked them, they would display a classical look that is akin to a pathetic look. They would typically rested in meat-loaf position and squeeked their eyes small.

Koogle and his pathetic sad look.

Cotton and his pathetic sad look.

Mi-yeon and her pathetic sad look.

Their consolidated pathetic sad looks.

Classic!

Cotton Is 8 Now!

On 8th Aug this year, Cotton just turned 8!

Happy Birthday, Cotton! Muack!

Senior Bunny Card?

Cotton's senior citizen pass!

Hahahaha but not eligible for Pioneer Generation Package. :(

It Cleans And Is Cleaned!

Recently at online, there was some hoo-has about a pee stain remover product that many bunny parents go ga-ga about.

Rabbit's urine has some kind of precipitates that will stain the surface usually their plastic litter tray or cage flooring. Cleaning it off with plain water does not help and diluted acetic acid can only remove some. The stained surface is aesthetically unsightly and the impression of poor hygiene practiced by owners when owners may have been scrubbing like mad but stains still not go away. Those scrubbing also will leave scrub marks and further ruin their good litter trays.

This product (I'm not naming it because this is currently sold at this pet shop which sells baby bunnies for profits) works wonder as claimed by many bunny parents who have used it. Little efforts was exerted needed to clean and your once dirty old looking litter tray or cage turns to almost brand new ones within 5 minutes!

My slightly stained litter tray caused by our beloved Cotton. See those white marks.

Squeeze some liquid out and soak for a minute or so on those stains. Those cannot be soaked on the wall, just tilt your tray upright.

Then use a clean and dry paper towel to wipe away the liquid. Wah-lah, and you're done.

Amazing? The bottle does not state its ingredients except it contains critic acid.

Now I have a brand new old litter tray. :D $14 is well spent.

New Tech Toy - IP Camera!!

There's an IT roadshow over the weekend and by chance, we stumbled IP camera on sales. We cannot help it but to buy!

This little R2D2 can tilt its head up, down left and right at iPhone app. I can adjust the resolution as well. Let see the picture quality:

iPhone at low res because I did not want to use up my data plan quota.

Quality at iPad in HD mode. Sharper of course!

Back to iPhone app.....let's compare the quality between Low and Max. There's Minimum, Low, Medium, High and Max res option to choose in the app.

iPhone app at Low res

iPhone app at Max res

The differences in quality is observable but not great.

There's a software bug in this product though and is making me and Uncle Hubby dissatisfied. The night mode can only be selected over at the software installed at laptop. Duh!!!!!! The app side though there's night shot at Environment tab, but the change simply will not be registered. So we feed back to Aztech and still pending for their reply.

Here is an example of night mode using IR shoot.

Basically, this IP camera hardware is till pretty good but there's lotsa improvement to be done at the software side. I have not tried motion sensor detection, voice out via speaker attachment and schedule recording. Real time recording function is not available because the software sucks!

Treats Up Bunny's IQ 100 Folds!

I can't remember if I uploaded this clip of Cotton cleverly lifted and gently placed down the pen fence before.

So here it is, all in the name of treat! Enjoy!

Happy Birthday, Cotton!

Happy Birthday to Cotton, our 长兔!

8th Aug and Cotton is 8 years old now. Wiser and active!

Uncle Hubby prepared his fruit cake to celebrate his birthday. However, the outcome was a little dismayed as it came in French portion. Can you make out the C (left) and G (right) in the cake?

Yup, Koogle also has a share.

Video

My dearest 长兔, mummy and Uncle Hubby love you so much and hope you will live longer and healthier with years to come. Smoooooch!

Hungry Looks....

We saw a documentary on feeding live chicken to breeded Tigers in a den.

Then we saw the expression of the hungry Tigers very familiar.....

I always get the same hungry looks from the boys when they saw treats on me. Hahahahahahaha

Don't you think so?

Measuring Cup!!

I really love this cup bought at Daiso. Now I'm giving them 25g of pellets (heck the density of the pellets) per bunny per day now. And when I put Koogle back to his cage, I gave him additional 25g to fatten him up purpose. Shhhhhhh....Cotton doesn't know about this.
