My company hosted an event and has some leftover fruits from their tea break. So I helped myself for the bananas, apple and 3 grapes. These fruits are meant for my 2 furkids, of course!

And their dinner is served!

Mi-yeon loves berries and wheatgrass. She finishes all her berries and wheatgrass within minutes.

Full House Call Grooming Session & his Vegetable Buffet

03-May-2014: Cotton's get his full house visit grooming session by HRSS volunteer, Betty. Amazing how she handled Cotton with ease and Cotton is so obedient for most part. Betty really has a thing with bunny and Cotton was so cooperative. Although there was a little difficulty cleaning Cotton's chin scent areas but Betty did it alright. Her cosmetic black pouch is full of grooming tools for bunny. She's also friendly and sharing with me tips on handling Cotton. The whole grooming process lasted less than 1hr.

Because Cotton is so well-behaved, he deserves a good meal and so I prepared for him a Vegetable Buffet!

 

Buffet consisted of Carrot top, Oregano herbs, Endive leafy vegetables, 3 slices of apple, Mint herbs and Fennel.

He was so happy with his buffet that he been buzzing at random after his each meal trip and hop back to his fave spot in the AC room. Seeing him so happy, I am happy too.

First new taste for Cotton: Wild Rocket

Woot! NTUC sells Endives and so I just have to buy for Cotton. It's not always available in the supermarket in my area and so lucky for Cotton, he will have another consecutive week of fresh vegetable intake.

Fennel for Cotton

I read at the HRSS group on the discussion of feeding their bunnies with Fennels. They also share where they gotten their source from - NTUC Finest, and how to feed the fennels to the bunnies. So I went to look for Fennels at the NTUC Finest and indeed, I found it. It costs me $4.95 per pack.

It took Cotton about 4 days to finish one pack of fennel. The fennel is peeled into layers prior to giving to Cotton and the remaining fennel will be kept in the vegetable fridge compartment. Each serving of Fennel is no more than the size of Cotton's head.

So what is Cotton's verdict? It's a THUMB UP! Fennel is now in Cotton's fresh vegetable supply list.

Enticing and Preparing Fresh Vegetables for Cotton

I tried green leafy vegetables like Chye Sim, Lettuce and Xiao Bai Chye and Cotton would not touch them after a few sniffs. After much readings and seeking advices from experienced buns parents at Facebook group, I tried herbs like Mints and Cotton loves it. 

But I want him to eat his leafy vegetables and not be picky with his food. So I got inspired by one of the bun parent who used dill (herb) wrapped with vegetables to feed her buns. She used a satay stick to do the rolls but I wonder if Cotton will be clever enough not to eat the satay sticks. So instead, I use Timonthy Hay to secure the wrap. Ok enough words, it's pictures time!

Experiment leafy green: Sweet Oat, Herbs: Coriander and Celery (strong aroma which Cotton loves)

Always wash the greens especially the herbs, organic or not!

You know sushi making? Lay the washed green leaf well and cut the herbs into smaller lengths as seen on picture below. Line the herbs on top of the green leaf. 

Then roll the leaf at one end and I prefer to start at the leafy tip because is easier. You will hear some cracking of the leaf stem and that's normal, so don't stop and keep rolling. Then I secure the roll or wrap with the timonthy hay by piercing through the leaf. See picture to see the end product. 

The meal is ready to be served! I usually feed Cotton once a day on weekdays at evening time after work. On weekends, I'll feed him twice a day - morning at 8-9am and evening at 7-8pm. I read that the amount of fresh vegetable should be about the size of your bun's head.
